Early retirement due to chronic or age-related health conditions

If one is pushed into early retirement due to poor health or chronic fatigue it's a live changing experience. Around 25,000 folks in the UK have CFS. There are 4 classes of chronic CFS!

Mild Class-fatigue

One can look after them self, but the subject may wish to take days off work to enable them to rest.

Moderate Class:

One may have limited mobility, your symptoms can change. You will also have irregular sleep patterns, and tend to sleep in the afternoons

Severe Class-mobility

One is able to carry out easy daily tasks! Basic hygiene like washing/Showering and cleaning your teeth and so on. Infrequently the subject might need to use aids such as Stairlifts and wheelchairs. People with a severe class of CFS could also have difficulty concentrating

Very severe Class-CFS

One can't carry out any kind of simple daily tasks for themselves and need bed rest for most part of the day. In serious cases, one may experience the same symptoms as headache sufferer's intolerance to noise and susceptible to bright lights etc.

As well as the loss of mobility there is also the financial loss of revenues which can become rather more financially difficult if one has to pay for their own devices like installation of a Stairlift or wheelchairs

One may also need to adapt change their home to permit easy access all though their home! Widening of door frames to allow easy access for a wheelchair or powered scooter for example.

Ceiling bed hoists and bath lifts may need to be installed to help the patient in and out of bed or the bath for example. The financial burden is made worse when one has to pay for the annual service inspection of such items

Many people assume once these medical devices aids have been bought they're on the home straight as it were. Stairlifts and electric lifting hoists should be serviced at least once a year and the costs of such maintenance work can be very costly to say the least.

One would be prudent to enquire about the annual service maintenance contracts and Stairlift repairs costs before they purchase any kind of medical devices.
