Most people have just heard of three body types: ectomorph, mesomorph and endomorph. However according to Kyle Leon, there are 4 other body types that fall between the major three on the physical structure spectrum.
Ectomorph
Ectomorphs are lengthy and lanky. They have thin bones, a narrow frame and lean muscles. Simply because they have such a high metabolism, they find it difficult to gain weight.
Mesomorph
Mesomorphs are a little shorter and possess thick bone fragments, a wider frame and big muscles. This body type is great for bodybuilders. The only downside is that they gain fat easier, therefore if they don't monitor their calories they'll have a layer of fat covering up their big muscles.
Endomorph
Endormorphs are even shorter and have big bone fragments, large arms and large legs. They're known as "short and stocky." Because of their slow metabolism, they tend to put on fat very easily. This is why it is important that they execute a lot of cardio and make sure a large part of their calories originated from protein.
Ecto-mesomorph
Fundamentally, these individuals are ectomorphs but with some mesomorph tendencies. They're tall and thin with a high metabolism, but they're still able to gain a good amount of muscle. Just like ectomorphs, they will have to take health supplements to assist them to put on muscle, however they shouldn't have as much trouble executing it as full ectomorphs.
Meso-ectomorph
These people, however, or mesomorphs with some ectomorph tendencies. They're shorter with thicker bones, but have a tougher time having muscle than full mesomorphs. Since they get fat easier, they must keep close track of their calorie intake.
Meso-endomorph
These are mesomorphs with some endomorph tendencies. They put on both muscle and fat quite easily, but it is more difficult for them to lose fat than it is for mesomorphs. These are usually the people at the gym who, regardless of their large guts, are power lifting a tremendous level of weight.
Endo-mesomorph
And last but certainly not least are the endo-mesomorphs. They are endomorphs with mesomorph tendencies. That means they are soft and round but do not have as large a gut as endomorphs. They don't have any difficulty putting on weight, but they should do cardio to avoid the majority of that weight from being fat.
To get much more muscle, you should know what body type you are.
